Since our first mission in May of 2008, hundreds of volunteers, guardians, and donors have given our veterans the day of recognition they were never given when they came home. These numbers do not measure service — they measure gratitude.

The Mission

A day
they were
never promised.

Most of our WWII veterans came home to a country that moved on. No parades. No crowds. No “thank you.” Seventy, eighty years later, this trip — chartered planes, police escorts, strangers lining up to shake their hands — is what should have happened the day they landed.

We do not fix the past. We bring the recognition forward.

Apply to fly

Honor Flight is open to WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam War veterans. The flight, the food, the bus, and the recognition — all on us.

Walk beside them

Guardians pay their own way ($600) and stay with one veteran all day — at the airport, on the memorials, all the way home.

03Donors

Fund the trip

$1,200 sends one veteran to D.C. Sponsor a seat, a bus, a lunch, or an entire flight. Every dollar is acknowledged.

The Urgency

Veterans
lost every day.

The chance for these veterans to see their memorials is expiring at increased rates due to diseases and injuries they incurred while serving us on active duty.

The average WWII veteran is in their late nineties. Korean War veterans are in their late eighties. The opportunity to thank them in person is closing. We still have over 100 veterans on our waiting list — men and women who have applied, who are ready, and who may not have the years left that our flight schedule needs.

Time is the variable we cannot control.
