Honor Flight Upstate SC is a non-profit, volunteer-based program. We exist for one reason — to honor our veterans and the sacrifices they have made to keep this nation safe and its people free.
We work in partnership with the national Honor Flight Network and serve veterans from the Upstate and the surrounding counties. We show our honor by giving them something the country forgot to give them the first time: a day of recognition. We fly them — World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War veterans — to Washington, D.C., to stand in front of the memorials built in their name.
These veterans are dying at a rate of more than two hundred a day. Time is the variable we cannot control. This trip — chartered flight, police escort, cheering strangers — is what should have been waiting for them when they came home.
